Rovinj → Lim Fjord → Rovinj · the oyster pontoon
“Twenty minutes inland, the sea narrows into a long green corridor between karst hills — the Lim Fjord. Wooden pontoons sit on the water like quiet animals. You eat oysters opened in front of you, drink cold malvazija, throw the shells back into the place they came from. Clay drinks from a metal bowl in the shade. Back at Amarin by three, the afternoon still long.”

Clay rides on the bow with his ears blown back. Swim, sit, swim again. Back on the noon boat, hair still salt. Long lunch in the old town. Afternoon: nothing.”
