The Planned Day

Written before the day was lived. Held lightly. Will be replaced as it happens.

The shape of the day

A full day inside the bay, with one outing: Perast. Twenty minutes from the hotel — drive up the inner curve of the Boka, park at the village edge, take the small boat out to Our Lady of the Rocks. The rest of the day belongs to the water and the stone.

What to do

  • 01Boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks at golden hour — water like glass, mountains pink.
  • 02The small museum inside the church — embroidered icons made from human hair.
  • 03Long dinner on the Perast waterfront — Conte or Otok Bronza. Drive back along the bay in the dark.

A loose rhythm

  1. Slow morningBreakfast at the hotel. Coffee on the terrace. Watch the ferry cross.
  2. MiddaySwim from the hotel pool, or walk down to the bay edge.
  3. Late afternoonDrive 20 min to Perast. Park outside the village. Walk in.
  4. Golden hourBoat to Our Lady of the Rocks. The light hits the water flat.
  5. EveningLong dinner at the water. Drive home along the unlit bay road.

Why this day

Perast is the cliché for a reason — and the cliché holds. From Kamenari it's a real outing without packing a bag. Sleep in the same bed tonight. That's the gift of staying three nights.

How it will feel

Reverent without being solemn. A day inside a postcard you don't have to send.

Practical notes

  • · Boats to Our Lady of the Rocks leave constantly from the Perast quay — €5 per person, ~30 min round trip.
  • · Conte (Hotel Conte) is the classic dinner with the island lit up at night. Reserve.

Awaiting the day
