Written before the day was lived. Held lightly. Will be replaced as it happens.
The shape of the day
Check-out from Luštica by eleven. Around the Boka, the long northbound coast through Croatia, and by late afternoon you pull into Perla Resort in Rogoznica — a small four-star at the edge of a quiet pine-rimmed bay. One night here, then the road turns inland for good.
What to do
- 01Pull-up at Perla — a Deluxe Triple with balcony, sea view, breakfast in. Pool right above the bay.
- 02Last swim of the trip from Perla's beach — small bay, pine island across the water, no crowd.
- 03An evening glass of wine on the balcony. The Adriatic doing its last trick — turning gold, then dark.
A loose rhythm
- MorningGoodbye Luštica. Around the bay, ferry across, then north along the Croatian coast.
- LunchStop somewhere unplanned south of Split. Eat slowly. The car still has hours in it.
- Late afternoonCheck in at Perla — 15:00. Drop bags, balcony first, then straight down to the pool or the bay.
- EveningBreakfast is in for tomorrow. Tonight: dinner in Rogoznica village (10 min walk along the road), or stay at the resort restaurant if Clay is tired.
Why this day
Returns deserve as much intention as departures. Perla is the soft landing — a real four-star bed for the threshold night, breakfast laid out, the pool you can fall into one last time. Not a generic stop on the way home: the last sea, on purpose.
How it will feel
A held farewell. Salt on the lips one more time. The car parked, the balcony door open, the bay quiet.
